Tour itinerary Details

Day 01 : Leh

After arriving in Leh, you will be transferred to to the hotel by our tour representative. Acclimatize yourself with the high altitude during the day. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 02 : Leh Sightseeing

After relaxing in the morning head for the Indus Valley in afternoon where you see the famous Saboo Gompa/monastery facing the Indus Valley. The next stop while returning towards Leh is the SOS village or Choglamsar. This place is significant for the Tibetan Buddhists. Also the Central Institute of Buddhist Studies which has a medical center. You can also see the polo ground and the golf course.

Day 03 : Takthok- Chemrey - Hemis Monasteries

Early morning visit to the 8th century Takthok Gompa where Guru Padmasambhava meditated in the caves. Next visit the Chemrey Gompa which is another old Gompa built in 1646 AD under the patronage of Sengge Namgyal. This monastery is located on a hilltop and is also a residence of the monks. Then head to the Hemis Monastery at the Karu village built in 1642 A.D. This place is also popular for the annual Hemis festival. In evening, return to hotel and stay overnight.

Day 04 : Leh- Phyang - Basgo - Alchi

After breakfast, leave for Alchi. Stop at Phyang Gompa which is one of the exquisite monastery on the highway. The next stop is the medieval village of Basgo on the road to Alchi. In afternoon, Visit another ancient 11th century village of Alchi. The Alchi Monastery is a wonderful example of the fusion of the Indian and Kashmiri architecture. It is also significant as the younger brother of Dalai Lama holds the seat here. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 05 : Alchi- Ridzong - Lamayuru (57 kms)

Return from Alchi and on the way to Lamayuru visit the 1840 built Ridzong Gompa. This Gompa was founded by Lama Tsultim Nima and set in a gorge. After reaching Lamayuru visit the 11th century Lamayuru Monastery.

Day 06 : Lamayuru - Leh (126kms/ 4 hours)

Early morning leave for Leh and enjoy a local lunch.

Day 07 : Leh - Delhi

Transfer to Leh airport for further journey.
