Chemrey Monastery - Ladakh

Esatablished in 1664, this Buddhist Monastery, stands on a hillock and looks beautiful from a distance. The red and white Palace like Monastery; is a beauty in itself! Founded by Lama Tagsang Raschen it is dedicated to King Sengge Namgyal.

Chemery Monastery is known to the world for its Padmasambhava or Guru Rinpoche statue. Around 37.5 m in height; it often gets clouded in mist and looks charmingly best in its own way!
